10 Ways to Quickly Speed Up Your Computer like New Again

1. Clean up Start up

Run Msconfig under run command and unselect items under startup that you do not want to load. A detail discription can be found on a article I wrote about how to use Msconfig.

2. Remove Old Programs

Under control panel goto Add Remove Programs. Remove any programs that you do not use frequently and are easily able to re-install at a later time when you need to use this program.

3. Scan spyware, Virus, Mal-Ware, Ad-Ware, Trojan,

Find your self a good anti-virus/spyware program to scan everything on your computer. There are multiple programs out there it is just up to you if you want to pay for a subscription or to use a free scan program.

4. Clean up Windows registry.

Once there is something wrong with the registry, the computer and programs on the PC will work improperly. So do remember to install and run a trusted registry cleaner at a regular basic. With a clean and compact registry, the computer will work stably every day!

5. Delete Trash,History,Cookies,Downloaded Files

Right click Empty Trash, Right Click Properties on Internet Explorer and delete History, Cookies. There are programs out there that can do this stuff for you just do a little research.

6. Remove - Dis-able Internet Explorer Plug-ins

On the latest version you can click tools, Manage Add-On's or Plug in's and remove or dis-able different plugins. You would be surprised how some plug-ins can slow down your computer.

7. Remove Desktop Themes

Right Click My Computer, System Properties should open, Click the Advanced tab, Then click Settings under the Performance box and check mark Adjust for best performance.

8. Remove Unneeded Hardware

Do you leave your iPod or Mp3 player plugged into your computer at all times? or maybe a printer or scanner? Some times that can slow a system down unplug these items when you are not using them.

9. Upgrade Software

Always get the latest updates for all your software including Windows virus programs. This will help keep your system runing smooth without errors.

10. Upgrade Hardware

If your hard drive is out of space or you have lack of memory upgrade these they are very in-expensive now days and will worth it!
